Established in 2017 by the Multicultural Education Resource Center at MCLA, the mission of the Men of Color Initiative (MOCI) is to provide a space for men of color to speak freely, while being comfortable expressing ourselves and viewpoints, provide academic support and guidance, cultural understanding, leadership development, and mentoring to male students of color. The MOCI serves as an additional support system through a brotherhood and demonstrating our strength and excellence as young men of color in our community. The MOCI is designed to create programs and services support persistence, retention and graduation for male students of color and to assist with college transition issues unique to them.
