If you previously attended MCLA and are ready to return, the readmission process can help you understand what you need to complete your degree. Your MCLA coursework will be reviewed along with any credits you've earned elsewhere since leaving the College.

Our goal is to make your return as clear as possible, from reviewing your credits to understanding financial aid and the steps required to re-enroll.

Application Requirements

Former MCLA students who have withdrawn from a degree program are invited to apply for readmission.

  • Complete the Return to MCLA form
  • Submit official transcripts of coursework completed after leaving MCLA, if applicable

Note: Students who have been away from MCLA for 10 years or more should contact the Office of Admission at admissions@mcla.edu or 413-662-5410.

Will my old credits still count?

Your previous MCLA coursework is reviewed during readmission. How credits apply depends on the current requirements for your program, so request an updated degree evaluation early in the process.

What about credits from another college?

Credits earned at other regionally accredited institutions are evaluated alongside your MCLA record. Submit official transcripts from every institution attended since you left MCLA.

Can I get financial aid again?

Complete the FAFSA for the academic year you plan to enroll. Eligibility depends on your current financial circumstances, satisfactory academic progress standards, and any prior federal loan borrowing, because aggregate loan limits apply across a lifetime. If you left with outstanding loans, confirm your status before enrolling.

How do I come back?

Follow the current readmission application process and published deadline. Students who did not leave in good standing should contact the appropriate academic or admissions office to understand any additional review or reinstatement steps.

Whether all credits apply to a current degree program depends on how long the student has been away and whether program requirements have changed in the interim, since some coursework may no longer map to current requirements.
