Student Employment

Many MCLA students are awarded work study funds in their financial aid package.  If you have a question about your workstudy award, please connect with Student Financial Services and they can confirm your award.

There are also many jobs available for non-work study students.  A list of all openings can be found here. Please see Human Resources for all of the necessary documentation to begin working at MCLA.


First Year CURRICULUM 

MCLA Career Services recognizes how important it is to start your professional development journey early.  From orientation onward, you will engage in a comprehensive career-planning curriculum. 

First, you will engage in self-discovery, via the O*NET Interest Profiler  O*Net provides you with a blueprint for the future.  It matches you with a three letter code.  The O*NET  Interest Profiler will then share presentations related to a variety of career options best suited for you, based on your results.  This will help you to learn more about yourself as an individual, while also learning more about the career paths you may wish to pursue.

It is the goal of MCLA Career Services to help you create a path by which you engage in personal and professional development. You can accomplish this by continued engagement with Career Services during your time at MCLA.  A comprehensive approach is extremely important and we encourage you to begin your career exploration as a freshman.

Sophomore & junior Year curriculum

As sophomores and juniors, MCLA Career Services strongly recommends that you enroll in at least one internship.  It is important to adhere to workplace etiquette, and be sure you are aware of the rules and regulations set forth by your employer. Appropriate attire is also an important consideration for any internship experience. Please consult with your community-based supervisor regarding these matters prior to beginning any internship experience.

If you are considering graduate school, please visit the MCLA Career Services for a variety of graduate school resources.

Networking is also extremely important. During your time at MCLA, you will have many opportunities to meet with employers through various Career Services events. Please take advantage of these opportunities and begin to network as early as possible in your college career. 


Senior Year CURRICULUM

As seniors and alumni, we encourage you to take advantage of various resources, including: resume/cover letter review, mock interviews,graduate school application support, networking opportunities, and much more.
