Rachel Fey to Present MCLA Green Living Seminar Series Talk Feb. 3

NORTH ADAMS, MA—Rachel Fey, senior director of public policy for Power to Decide, will present a talk titled “Preventing Unplanned Pregnancy” as part of MCLA’s Green Living Seminar Series at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 3, 2021. 

Green Living Seminar Series webinars are free and open to the public; community members can register for each lecture at mcla.edu/greenliving. All seminars take place weekly on Wednesdays at 5:30 p.m. through April 14. 

Fey leads Power to Decide’s federal health policy and advocacy portfolio, where she identifies, develops, and promotes a variety of federal policy activities to improve information and access to contraception for everyone. She is an expert on key federal programs and policies including the Title X Family Planning Program, the women’s preventive services provision of the Affordable Care Act (ACA), Medicaid coverage of family planning, the Teen Pregnancy Prevention (TPP) Program, the Personal Responsibility Education Program (PREP), military service members’ reproductive health care, and federal abortion policy. 

Prior to Power to Decide, she worked on family planning provisions of the ACA, Title X, and Medicaid while at The National Family Planning and Reproductive Health Association (NFPRHA). Her additional experience includes time at NARAL Pro-Choice America, the Association of Reproductive Health Professionals (ARHP), and the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, Center for Communication Programs. 

Every semester, MCLA’s Green Living Seminar Series hosts lectures by local, regional, and national experts organized around a central theme related to the environment and sustainability. The 2021 series theme is “Individual Actions and Environmental Sustainability.” The series is a presentation of the MCLA Environmental Studies Department and MCLA’s Berkshire Environmental Resource Center.
