Faculty Advising Resources

MCLA is committed to providing students a holistic and personalized advising experience. Academic advising is supported at the departmental and institutional level. The CTL collaborates with multiple campus constituents to provide workshops related to advising policies and practices, advising technology, and other supports. To see current offerings visit the CTL workshops page or events calendar

Advising Technology

Faculty have access to several tech-based advising tools. These tools include Canvas, dropout detective and DegreeWorks. For program related workshops and support contact Gerol Petruzella in Academic Technology.

Academic advising & support

The Office of Academic Advising & Support's mission is to empower MCLA students to discover and achieve their academic and professional goals. We believe in each student's potential to thrive academically and forge a path to success.

In Academic Advising & Support students can find general academic advising or advising for undeclared majors and academic support such as the Trailblazer Tutor Program.

Academic Advising & Support works closely with Disability Resources, Career Services, and TRiO Student Support Services.

Academic Advising & Support is a resources for faculty academic advisors via the Academic Alert system. Faculty can submit a concern for any student. The concern is sent directly to Academic Advising & Support who then conducts outreach to that student.

If you have any additional questions, please contact Academic Advising & Support at advising@mcla.edu

For information and resources related to Disability Resources contact Cindy MacDonald.
