Certificate of Applied Accounting

The Certificate of Applied Accounting is ideal for those in career transitions or interested in building professional credentials.  Aspiring bookkeepers and entrepreneurs will also receive academic benefits from this certificate. The program utilizes MS Excel, QuickBooks, and other critical skills essential for financial success (18 credits).

Offered fully online, high school diploma or equivalent required.

  • ACCT 224 Financial Accounting
  • ACCT 225 Managerial Accounting
  • ACCT 320 Accounting Systems
  • And Two (2) Accounting Electives

For students who qualify, financial aid may be available. Students may be able to qualify for:  

  • Federal financial aid, including loans and Pell Grant opportunities. For more information on financial aid, click here.
  • Workforce training grants through the Commonwealth of Massachusetts
    • MCLA's certificate programs are ITA approved programs
    • Students who qualify may receive funding through MASSHIRE JobQuest
    • To receive funding, applicants must register with the Mass Hire Career Center.
  • Some employers provide tuition reimbursement programs. Students should check with HR at their places of employment to learn about funding option.
